We are happy to advise that BYS has appointed a new General Manager, Gavin Wall, who started in December.
By way of background, Gavin was the Victorian Regional Manager for Australian Sailing and has worked for Australian Sailing and Yachting Victoria for the last 9 years. Prior to working for Yachting Victoria, Gavin was the Sail Training Manager at the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria during which time his club won the Yachting Victoria Training Centre Of The Year and the Yachting Australia National Sports Promotion awards. Gavin is a qualified dinghy, keelboat and power boat instructor and club level race official. Gavin is an active sailor, sailing a Mosquito catamaran and VX One sports boat.
Prior to working in the sailing industry Gavin spent 20 years in the hospitality industry, working both in Australia and internationally in 5-star hotels, restaurants and casinos. This culminated in him developing and managing his own award-winning restaurant and bar in Christchurch, New Zealand before moving to Australia.
