She Sails

BLAIRGOWRIE YACHT SQUADRON

SheSails Experience

Open, inclusive and very much focused on women

SheSails is a national initiative that’s all about encouraging more and more women to explore and enjoy their own sailing adventure in a fun, friendly and gender safe environment. But it’s more than that. It recognises all of the amazing female contributors to our sport. Whether you’re sailing for the first time, returning to the sport or are an active sailor there are a variety of social SheSails activities both on and off the water for you to get involved in.

At BYS our SheSails sailing program caters for all skill levels. To give it some structure and help you progress from novice to experienced sailor our She Sails Pathway program looks like this.

The SheSails Experience.

Provides a hands-on experience of sailing on one of our club boats with an experienced instructor and female crew.

Our BYS Women’s sailing program caters for ALL Skill levels – with absolute beginners being our speciality! The SheSails Experience will provide you with a hands-on experience of sailing on one of our club boats with an instructor and other female participants. The SheSails Experience aims to deliver a great social and relaxing time while discovering how fun, safe, accessible and affordable sailing can be both on and off the water.

Once you have discovered your love for sailing, you can move through our other SheSails courses: SheSails – Start Crewing and SheSails – Start Skippering.

Experience Overview

A Discover Sailing Experience is an approximate three-hour sailing experience at an accredited Discover Sailing Centre, without the technical detail of a course, for families, friends, or work colleagues. Having the chance to use the Centre’s social facilities is as much a part of the experience as is getting out on the water. The aim of a Discover Sailing Experience is to encourage participants to want to do more sailing at the club and possibly register for a Discover Sailing Course.
