Interested in jumping on a boat on a particular day?
Our members are a pretty friendly lot at BYS. And it often happens that our keelboat skippers are looking for an extra crew member to have onboard when they’re shorthanded for that race day.
If this sounds like something you’d like to experience, our sailing office team can put you in touch with a skipper, allowing you to fill in as crew for the day. The number of roles available will vary from week to week.

Would you like a regular crewing role?
Skippers value crew who are willing to fit into the team, who are reliable, dependable, easy going and most importantly who enjoy a great day on the water. Skippers love experienced sailors, but are also keen to take on novice sailors, particularly if you’ve gone through some of the Learn to Sail courses. So don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to other sailors around the club and out on the marina, and ask if they know of any crewing positions available.
