Coast & Country Getaways Pink Day Jan 23

Our annual Coast & Country Getaways Lady Skippers race was held on Saturday 21 January 2023 with glorious conditions. Crews and skippers came dressed in their brightest and wackiest pink outfits to help raise funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia.

The OTB fleet sailed two races for the Class Trophy series drawing a 20-strong sabre fleet and a good minnow fleet enjoying the two on-the-wind starts. Keelboat crews were loud and bright, wearing pink from head to toe for the Coast & Country Getaways ‘Pink Day’ Lady Skippers Race. The keelboats set off down towards Capel Sound enjoying champagne sailing conditions. Trilogy, skippered by Erin Friend was back home first for line honours, but it was Eva skippered by Laura Harding who was first on performance handicap. Trilogy came second, and Ragnar with Alice Ekberg third.

Winner: Eva, Skipper Laura Harding   |   Second: Trilogy, Skipper Erin Friend   |   Third: Ragnar, Skipper Alice Ekberg

Congratulations to everyone who participated in what is a fun day supporting women’s sailing while raising valuable funds for the Breast Cancer Network Australia.

The day was a terrific success raising $4000.00 for BCNA. Of course, the day couldn’t go ahead without the support of Coast & Country Getaways, Sorrento Collective and Fever-Tree.

Lots of pink splashed around the clubhouse, deck and boats! (below)
