Junior & Youth Sail Training Graduation
Congratulations to our Junior and Youth Sail Training sailors who have all done a sensational job improving their sailing skills over the summer. We had 39 kids in JST, mainly sailing Minnows, and 26 teens training in ILCAs and Sabres this summer, and held our Sail Training Graduation on Sunday.
Highlights of summer have been seeing our “Green Group” (new Minnow sailors) learn to rig their boats and progress to successfully tacking and gybing around short courses in the shallows, watching our “Orange Group” (mid-level Minnow sailors) head out to complete their first races on the “big course” with our weekend OTB sailors, and seeing out Minnow graduates from last season skillfully handling their ILCAs and Sabres both during training sessions and Club racing. No matter what level, all our sailors should be really proud of their achievements! We know there are a lot of proud parents out there too.
While our JST and YST have finished up for the season, it isn’t the end of the road as we encourage our sailors to attend up coming regattas and continue to join in with Club racing.
