2020 Victorian Minnow Championship

Over the weekend of 26 & 27 February, 12 of our BYS Minnow Sailors ventured over to Williamstown Sailing Club to participate in the Victorian Championship. For some, this was their very first regatta.

27 sailors competed across the two fleets, Open Fleet and Novice Fleet. Our BYS team did exceptionally well, bringing home the lion’s share of the trophies, but most importantly enjoying the regatta.

“It was really different sailing so close to the city. We had to stop sometimes on the sail back to the club to the the big ships through. I loved being back in my minnow racing with all my mates. We had some great close races. Minnows are lots of fun.”    Will James.

“I loved sailing with all my friends. It was really fun seeing your friends to well and having so much fun! We were all so happy for Abby who was amazing and sailed so well.”   Samantha Kudnig.
