Australian Sailing Club Level Race Officers Course

Last Saturday BYS hosted an Australian Sailing Club level Race Officers Course.

We had a very pleasing turn out of 15 attendees; 2 from LochSport Yacht Club and Wellington Yacht Club on the Gippsland Lakes and 13 BYS members. Our thirteen BYS attendees ranged from our current Vice and Rear Commodores through to our newest members.

Special thanks to Peter Merritt from McCrae Yacht Club, who as one of the co-presenters of the seminar shared his valuable experience and expertise.

Thanks also to BYS for its hospitality and for subsidising the registration fee of the BYS members. As sailors, we look forward to benefiting from the increased skills and confidence that this course will have provided it’s participants when they’re next rostered to on-water duty.

There was a last-minute surge of interest in the course which we weren’t able to accomodate and therefore there’s a likelihood we’ll run another seminar before the end of the year. Keep an eye out!
