Youth Sportsboat Regatta 2026

The Youth Sportsboat Regatta returns to Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron on 18–19 April 2026, bringing two days of high-energy sprint racing to the Mornington Peninsula. Sailed in J/70s, this regatta is designed to showcase young sailing talent in a fast, fun, and competitive environment. Open to sailors aged 15–30, the event promotes teamwork, skill development, and tactical racing in one-design keelboats. Whether you’re racing or spectating, it’s an unmissable weekend of youth sailing action.

Entry is open with options to BYS J/70 or use a supplied J/70 and we encourage teams of four or five sailors. The short format races with twelve minute target times will keep competitors close together so that everyone is part of the action. No need to worry if you have a bad race as the next one won’t be far away!

This regatta is generously supported by BYS Past Commodore Kurt Jaks through his financial contribution, and by the Club’s J/70 boat owners, who kindly make their boats available for the series. There are five (TBC) loan boats available for the event, so don’t delay your entry.
