Ian Pender Memorial Award, Club Person of the Year
BYS volunteers contribute to the success of our Club and each year the Ian Pender Memorial Award is given to the BYS member whose volunteering efforts are considered to be outstanding and beyond what would usually be expected of a volunteer.
The Ian Pender Memorial Award, Club Person of the Year Award honour’s Ian Pender who spent many years from the time he joined BYS in 1960 as a devoted and enthusiastic volunteer.
Congratulations to Danielle O’Brien who was announced as this years recipient by Rear Commodore, Georgina Plumridge, at the Annual General Meeting held over the weekend.
Danielle has been a member of BYS since 2013, since joining the Club some may have met her as a supportive parent through her children’s sailing and supporting class associations or volunteering her time at the Club in numerous roles or through her role with the Membership Committee.
With her creative flair Danielle has updated the Club’s merchandise and provided a refresh to our branding and marketing.

Junior Club Captain’s 2022 – 2023
Congratulations to Chloe Warner and Archie O’Brien who were announced as BYS Junior Club Captain’s by Vice Commodore, Martin Kudnig, at the Annual General Meeting.
16 year old Chloe has been a BYS member since birth and 15 year Archie for 6 years, both are passionate and active sailors who will represent the Club with great pride.
