“CHINA GROVE”

BYS club member Ian Mellett, recently returned from a 5 year cruise of Asia on his Buizen 48, China Grove, to compete in this year’s Hamilton Island race week.  There was a strong showing of Buizen 48’s with 5 entered this year. The wind conditions were boisterous, averaging 25 knots and gusting to 30 knots but determination and skill prevailed and the crew sailed China Grove to first place in the final race of the Regatta.

After the race Ian commented that there are few boats that can win first place with the washing machine onboard!
