The efforts of individuals who dedicate their time and expertise to the betterment of community organizations often go unnoticed. Yet, their contributions lay the foundation for progress and sustainability, enabling clubs and associations to thrive for years to come. Recognizing such outstanding service is not just an acknowledgment of hard work but a celebration of leadership and vision.
Our soon to be anointed Club Person of the Year has been a member of our Club for many years and is well-liked and respected by the membership.
He is a very regular sabre sailor, often featuring in the annual presentation of awards.
However, it for other significant contributions to club matters that this person has been awarded the Ian Pender Award as Club Person of the Year.
As long-standing chairman of one the of the clubs’ sub committees, and his significant contribution to all matters Marina, including his leadership of the Marina committee and their enormous amount of work and due diligence around understanding the maintenance and remediation requirements of this major club asset to ensure its longevity that has led to this decision.
I have great pleasure presenting to, and congratulating, John Petschel our 2025 Club Person of the Year.
