By Fred O’Brien, Junior Club Captain
Junior skippers’ day is always filled with excited children ready to sail on a ‘keelboat’. This year, the morning of Sunday 14 January, started off with breakfast in the Southern Waters Room with Commodore Martin Kudnig and all the keelboat owners. The kitchen put on a delicious spread which was much enjoyed and everyone received a briefing from our Club Captain, Richard, before heading out.
Juniors and boat owners walked out to the marina to their allocated boat and jumped on board, hoisted those sails and got sailing! The racing was close and suspenseful. The team onboard Mell were awarded first place on handicap.
It was a great morning on the water. Well done to all junior sailors!
