Coast & Country Getaways Pink Day

Our annual Coast & Country Getaways Lady Skippers race was held on Saturday in glamorous conditions. Crews and skippers came dressed in their brightest and wackiest pink outfits to help raise funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia. The sun was out, with a perfect 12 or so knots blowing from the southeast. Ideal racing conditions! Always a popular and fun day, the fleet was stacked with terrific female talent, with Tracey De Poi leading the team on Element 22, Sian Harding on Eva, Erin Fitzpatrick on Halcyon, Sally Powell on Playlist and Michelle Bolton on Klinger. The wheel was handed over to Harriette Singh on board Pending, Rosey Cobelas skippered Essentially Chicken, and Kate Taylor was called upon to fill big shoes on Yacht Rock. Two of the club J70s joined the race. Javelin was skippered by Daisy Laing and well crewed with a star young-gun team, and Team Danks was on board Spike, skippered by Hannah.

  • 1st Eva, Sian Harding
  • 2nd Klinger, Michelle Bolton
  • 3rd Halcyon, Erin Fitzpatrick

The skipper on the winning Best Dressed Boat was Harriette Singh on Pending.

After racing, the ‘pink party’ continued on the deck with sailors and Pink Day supporters enjoying pink flamingo cocktails, pink desserts and pink doughnuts and buying many raffle tickets. The day was a terrific success raising $3069 for BCNA. Of course, the day couldn’t go ahead without the support of Coast & Country Getaways, The Wine Company, Sorrento Collective and Fever-Tree.
