Australian 2K Team Racing Championships

This weekend (26-27 October 2022), six of our young members travelled to Hobart to compete in the 2K National Championships at the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania. The BYS team was made up of Ethan O’Brien, Hannah Danks, Ed Warner, Sally Danks, Mitchell Harding and Harriette Singh. They were also accompanied by two SSCBC young members, Jack Lewis and Charlie Dixon.

Saturday saw fast-paced racing, with some bullets up to 30 knots throughout the day, keeping all sailors alert and ready for anything. Sunday brought some finer weather, with Hobart bringing out the sun for a spectacular view of Mount Wellington, and lighter breeze, forcing every team to try out some different tactics.

After two great days of racing, BYS finished third overall! Congratulations to SSCBC for taking the win, and a big thank you to Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania for hosting the regatta.
