A huge success – BYS Virtual Opening Day 2020

A hearty THANK YOU from the Commodore!

A very big thank you to everyone who participated in the inaugural Virtual Opening Day on Saturday.

From the feedback we received on the night and the day that followed, and the fact that the video was viewed by over 700 people, it looked to have been a great success and we may have found a new career for some of our contributors.

On behalf of the Social Events Committee, which is made up of the Membership and Clubhouse committees, I would like to thank this group who worked tirelessly to compile the footage and commentary. We set a new record with the largest and most diverse fleet of boats in a virtual sail past in the club’s history, which was just as well given winds of between 20 to 30 knots and a gale warning issued for the bay. I would also like give an extra special thank you to two incredibly generous members, Andy and Nic McIntyre, who gave up countless hours to the production.

For those of you who missed it, although with over 700 views is looks like most got to see it, the event is still available to view via Facebook Watch here – https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=361601624890561
