2022 BYS Team Challenge

With the holiday season over, schools back and some sense of normality returning post the Omicron peak, we are busily engaging with businesses and supporters of the event.

As we know, the profound impact of the COVID pandemic has and will continue to impact how we live our lives. It challenges not just ourselves, but also the support structures that assist and develop much-needed community services and makes the purpose of this event – which is to support vocation and employment opportunities for youth on the southern peninsula – even more important.

Raising the profile of this event can only help and to assist in that regard, we want everyone to know that the vocational support services that are being provided by headspace and their program partners are there to support a variety of industry sectors. The life skills, social and emotional well-being support that assist youth to be “employment ready” is critical in making sustainable pathways into any industry.

There are a number of ways to support the event and these are listed below:

  • Provide opportunities to graduates from these youth programs
    • e.g. work experience, casual/part-time or full-time
  • Sponsor the event
    • Cash – with all proceeds going to the programs to provide pathways for our youth in gaining employment and you can make a donation here
    • In-kind – to be used in a silent auction to raise proceeds on the day and/or for prizes on the day
    • Support the event on your website &/or social media
  • Participate in the event by entering a team or being part of a team, enter your team here

We are also pleased to advise members that the club, along with an increasing number of peninsula businesses, including Searoad Ferries, Pt Leo Estate and Mitre 10 have committed to supporting graduates from the programs being offered.
