BYS Easter Art Show 2022

After much discussion and consideration of the club’s COVID-19 safe plan, we’ve decided to proceed with our Easter Art Show this year which is fantastic news for all of us, our artists and the local community. We will be offering members the opportunity to view and purchase works on Good Friday by appointment only between 12 noon and 6 pm. Each member will receive an invitation on how to purchase tickets to attend a viewing session more details will follow through next week’s newsletters.

Purpose of the Easter Art Show

The sole purpose of the Easter Art Show is to raise funds to support the BYS patrol boat fleet used in connection with race management and junior and youth sailing. Sailing is the heart of BYS and the Easter Art Show is the only fundraising activity to specifically support these important club assets which are critical to the operation of the Club. Since its inception in 2010, the BYS Easter Art Show has raised sufficient funds to purchase three new patrol boats from funds raised and is arguably the best art show on the Mornington Peninsula.

Artists

This Easter Art Show will feature works from over 80 artists, with a vast majority residing on the Mornington Peninsula. We are particularly pleased to be exhibiting indoor & outdoor sculptures another visual art form that has proven popular with our members and visitors. Our feature artists this year are sculptor James Alexander and artists Linda Weil and Dianne Fix. We will be featuring each of them in the coming newsletters.

Volunteers Needed

The Art Show Committee is looking for volunteers to help greet Art Show visitors for 3 hour shifts throughout the Show over Easter (15 – 18 April). We are also looking for a volunteer to put our advertising bikes out in the community.
